On the first day it was apparent that the Scots were out to win back the Cup, new blood had been added to strengthen the their side and some familiar faces were missing. It was clear that we would have to play at our best if we were to have any chance to retain the Cup.

On Saturday we had three winning rinks but at the end of the day we were 17 shots adrift. On the Sunday we started off well and by around the eigth end we had levelled the score, but the Scots rallied round and soared ahead winning and regaining the Cup by plus 51 shots.

WELL DONE.

It is clear that Scotland are attracting new players into their section and for this year's fixture had 39 players who were available to play. This is something that is not happening in England and if it continues we will struggle to compete in these type of fixtures in future.

Finally on a more positive note, the weekend itself was another success the hotel and the indoor green were excellent and my thanks goes to Bill Taylor and his committee for organising the event.

I am sure next year will be just as good with it being played at Wellingborough IBC and the booking of the Hilton Hotel at Northampton.
