PREVIOUS MINUTES

 

The Minutes of the AGM (2006) were accepted and there were no matters arising.

 

The meeting read through minutes of the last UK Committee Meeting held in August and there were no matters arising.

 

CORRESPONDENCE

 

The Scottish Section returned the £600 grant to the UK Section and suggested it be used to purchase the new UK polo shirts.

 

The meeting gave a vote of thanks for this gesture.

 

After a discussion on insurance policies etc for our Sections following an incident in a club in Hampshire the meeting agreed the UK Committee ratify the indemnity clause and include in our Constitution.

CHAIRS, TREASURER AND TEAM MANAGERS REPORT

ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS

 

All existing office bearers were voted back onto the UK Committee en bloc.


 

 

MAKE UP OF UK COMMITTEE

 

N Ireland proposed an increase from 1 representative per Country to 2 (change to Constitution).

 

This proposal was carried.

 

Action:  Each Country to inform the UK Secretary of name and contact details of 2nd representative.

 

FSSAA – “EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS TO CARRY OUT WORK ON BEHALF OF THE ASSOCIATION”

 

UK Bowls formally lodged a vote against this motion at the FSSAA AGM in July but the motion was carried.

 

It remains to be seen what the consequences of this will be.

 

4 NATIONS – 2008 – WALES

 

The event will be hosted by Wales in Llandrindod Wells.

 

Date:                            12-13 September 2008

Venue:                          Rock Park International Bowling Greens

Cost:                            £125 pp – 3 nights – Bed, Breakfast, Evening Meal

Hotel:                           Commodore Hotel

 

Action:  All Countries to note.

 

The President thanked N Ireland for all their hard work and efforts in hosting this years 4 Nations and all the facilities provided were excellent.

 

AWARDS FOR ALL

 

The President re-iterated that grants may be available from this organisation.  He encouraged Sections to look into this and apply where possible.

 

WFF GAMES 08

 

There were concerns raised regarding the playing format of the Pairs-Bowls.  The rules advertised on the Games website were contrary to those normally practiced.

 

Action: UK Secretary to write to Games Organising Committee outlining our concerns and advising of what the format should be.
